If I have a fish in QT with ick and run copper for 2 weeks and then move the fish out into a new QT I am assuming the fish would then be ick free correct since ick can not live on the fish for this long and the free floating ick dies because of the copper.

If you are going to move a fish between tanks, tank transfer is better and healthier for the fish.
