Thanks Mike. I think I have my temp prob under control. I'm hoping taking 3 pumps (oceanrunner 3500, Seio 1500, and CAL 220) out of my system and adding one external pump will allow me to take the fan off of the main tank. I'm not a big fan of the noise... no pun intended. Maybe one huge fan over my 30 sump and having no pumps submerged will allow me to do that.

Steve - what are you going to be using for flow now that you are taking the powerheads out? Are you going with penductors?

Two penductors driven by a 1550 gph pressure rated Gen-X pump. Display will look much neater after removing two pvc pipes, a SCWD, and two pumps. The penductors look cool and I hear some raves about them. I might do a product review for the March newsletter if all goes well...

If you are worried about the noise from the fan then you may be disappointed when you get the Gen-X pump hooked up. They are not very quiet. I have had good success with the penductors but you will probably want to break up the linear flow somehow.

When you get this all hooked up I am interested in your Ocean Runner pump.

I'll let you know about the OceanRunner Kevin. I normally take whatever the product costs with shipping on MarineDepot and chop the price in half... give or take depending on condition, extras etc...

Hope that tank ain't in a living space

:)

The tank is in a finished basement. The sump is plumbed through the wall into my sump/laundry room. The noise shouldn't be much of a factor.
