Ideal dKH/meq?

In your opinion, what do you consider to be the ideal range for dKH & meq?

As detailed in the article above, I recommend 2.5-4 meq/L or 7-11 dKH for alkalinity. A bit higher is OK as long as the calcium and pH are not too low.

I just tested with a Salifert test kit, calcium 425, ph 8.0, dKH 12.5, meq 4.46. I dosed with Kent's superbuffer-dKH about 6 hours ago in my top off water hoping to raise my ph. Do you think that I should be concerned with the current dKH/meq levels?

The levels are fine now, but in general, buffers are not a good way to boost pH. In the end they boost alkalinity a lot and pH not much at all. This article has more:
