Ideal QT size

I've used the extra tanks that I had on hand.

I'd like to build a stand and put two new QTs under it. Is there a tank size I should aim for? I really had no problem with 10s but wondered if 20s would be better.

Depends on the fish and size of the fish. I have a 20 gallon for my QT. For example I had a Flame Hawkfish, Multicolor Angel, Clownfish, and Wrasse in there at the same time. After them I could only do 1 Tang in there, due to size and aggression and swimming behaviors. So my point, it just depends.

anemones I use 10gal. wrasse and baby fish I use 20gal. medium sized to tangs, I use 40gal breeders.. I now have a 560DT so my QT are 150gal...

imo. the important question is how big is your display tank. Your QT should match the largest fish that goes into DT.

+1 most fish can be QTed in a 40g breeder. For larger fish I use a 125g
