Ideal Sump ?

I am looking into a 300 gal reef/fish tank. I have the luxury of having a room behind the tank that I can place the sump into. I figure a 300 gal sump would be great. Any suggestions / ideals on the ideal combination of items for that sump ? for example - first filter socks, the next well would contain a Protein skimmer,, ect. I am not sure of the sequence of items. I know that I need a protein skimmer/ and would like a UV sterilzer/ perhaps either live rock or sand...Mangroves ?, water cooler/chiller, charcoal, Calcium reactor ? further suggestions as to what and what sequence to place into the sump ?

i would make part of it into a refugium with liverock, sand and macroalgae, maybe mangroves.

for the divisions, i would make the skimmer first with some space for biopellets/other reactors, then the refugium, return area and freshwater reservoir for ATO. with that size/room available you could consider a frag tank too.

The bigger the better but costly when doing water changes. My advice would be to build one that has a section for a refugium another section for live rocks and last section for equipment (skimmer, reactors, etc).
