Ideal tank temperature for a mantis tank?

After dealing with my heater woes from from a monthish ago, I've started to reassess the ideal temperature for my mantis tank. Historically I've tried to keep the tank 77-79ºF/25-26ºC (this was what I was originally told to do at the LFS where I bought the mantis), but I've started doing some more research into it and I've seen people suggest temps as low as 75ºF/24ºC and as high as 85ºF/30ºC depending on what's living in the tank.

Different temperatures depending on stock makes sense, but it leaves me wondering if I'm keeping the tank at the ideal temperature for my mantis. He's pretty hardy - so far he seems fine with the temperature, but then again when the tank temp spiked earlier this summer that didn't seem to bother him either (TLDR tank spiked to almost 90ºF/32ºC due to a faulty thermometer for at least a couple weeks until I worked out the issue). Still, just because he can tolerate apparently a broad range of temperatures doesn't mean he should :)

What temperatures do you keep your tanks at? How do you know what temperature is ideal for your species of mantis? Or does the ideal tank temperature not vary that much between species? I would like to keep one or two corals in there with him ^.^

Thanks :)

78F on my Peacock tank, room temperature (i.e. no heater, ~75-78F) for my 2.5G N. Oerstedii tank.

My L. macs are kept at a steady 74F (although on cold days it may drop to 72, really need to invest in better heaters, mine have dials, but I either turn it a hair and it fries the tank at 86F or keep it at a generally lower level but still safe zone.). My entire reef setup remains at 82F. (atleast I think it is... I think I should put a thermometer on the shopping list this week.. kinda did without since my last broke for an embarassingly long time.)

Something to note is higher temperature, higher metabolism, they'll eat more and perhaps be a bit more quick developed as a result. Not sure how drastic the change would be while maintaining the safe zones, probably not big at all.

Really wouldn't worry about it, 21 degrees c is still warm enough probably 28 degrees c shouldn't be too warm either, a steady temperature is more essential. I'd say a constant 23-27 would be ideal.
