Ideas for a 12 gallon tank

Hello all,

I am looking for a cool fish for a 12 gallon tank that is currnetly cycled and ready to go.

I am looking for odd or rare colorful fish that could live alone...

My wife wants to do 2 seahorses, but I heard these are hard to keep. I was thinking maybe a cool goby or something along those lines...

It will be a fish only tank with no coral and I can lower (70) or raise the temp (80ish) for different ideas if anyone has anything they can think of.

The tank has about 15 lbs of live rock with a 2 inch live sand bed

Thanks in advance

Blennies are really fun fish-they have great personalities. Yellow watchman gobies are also cool. Actually, many of the blennies and/or gobies would be good, just be very careful to not overstock, especially in a small tank.

I know you said no corals, but my thought was to do a zoanthid tank with one or two fish.

I think a goby is a great idea. They don't want a lot of room to swim and they tend to have a lot of personality. I'd try and get a mated pair.

thanks for the suggestions so far...i also want to keep the bio load really low and would prefer something that doesn't need to be feed 2x a day or anything like that...

catalina gobies are def. an option. i love they way they look...maybe 1 gobie/1shrimp....

hmmmmm

I like the TWIN spot Sand Sifting Goby.

I suggest a pistol shrimp and goby :)

If you want something a bit flashy, a candy-striped pistol (red/white) with a yasha hase goby makes a very eye-catching display. I have an orange-spotted shrimp goby and tiger pistol. These are both pretty commonplace, but I love them and think the goby is absolutely beautiful - the closer you get to an o.s. goby, the prettier the colours are. In a 12g tank, you'd get to see the pair all the time. I sometimes lose my little guys in the 90g - I know where their burrow is, but it's off to the side and in the back, so unless they choose to come out towards the front, I really don't see much of them.

Another fun goby for a 12g would be a clown goby. I've seen black, green with red spots, yellow, and there are also striped and 'panda' clown gobies. Wonderful little fish with loads of character. In fact... you could get away with doing both of these, since clown gobies are so small.
