If there is going to be a meeting soon we need to find a location and get some volunteers lined up for demos, lectures etc...

Lets hear some ideas.

I would like to hear someone tell us about breeding and raising clownfish, also seahorse. Anyone that has breed and raised saltwater animals. Just a thought, but I find it very interesting, perhaps others would too.
Another thing that would be cool would be if anyone out there has ever made their own nano tank.
Also, lol, I think alot of people would like to know how to drill there own tanks.
Myslef, I have so much I need to learn that I am interested in anything being taught, lol.

If the tank drill demo works out and is a positive, I have a 20 gallon tank you can drill, but I don't want to take it down if it isn't going to get drilled.

yea we can use my house its pretty big
two car bay for table sales large basment for auctions
ahh Beer Pong table and aaahh Natural Light on tap!!!!! for those really extreem 1$ Jager Bombs!!!!

Hey I have a friend who has a charter bus service. Since Nathan is gonna be footing the bill I'm sure since My friend is a fish keeper we could get a couple coaches lined up so we don't have to drive. He might even give you a discount! LOL

LOL i know a couple of parties where we have had more people stuffed in here then you could get in here for the club meeting lol
"If you tap it they will come" lol

How many people in the area have successfully raised marine fish or even Fresh Water fish (besides guppies, etc.)? I would say the number would be close to 0 people who have had long term success breeding any marine fish. But I have almost been wrong once in my life.

I thought someone raised seahorses, and I am sure I remember someone that raised tomatoe clowns. But I have really vivid dreams...LOL :)

I tried Dwarf Seahorses but it was a failure.
They starve VERY Easily and demand constant attention. The larger species apparently give more room for error.
I have lots of pictures of the mating dance before the disaster came.

there used to ba a guy named Joe Higgenbotham. He set up the central system at Jo-mars. he and his wife Cathy had a pet shop in Hurricane before they moved to NC with his job with the electric company.
He bred Clowns by the hundreds. I got to see his set up once. I taped it but apparantly taped over it.

When He left the area Dr. Sediqui of Barboursville, a Pediatrition, bought Joe's set up. I dont think he did anything with it though.

I can explain the spawning behaviors of clowns, how to try to induce spawning, and how to raise clownfish eggs but I am no expert. I have raised three sets to metamorphisis but only one clutch made it into being jueveniles. I still have a few that I raised.

philjess, how could you say that as far as people that have raised marine fish in this area would be 0, and then post that you have raised a few? Silly! I would love for you to explain about the clowns. My damsels spawned and it was so cute. Momma watched over her nest so well, but then one morning I woke up and she was just swimming around like everyone else and I noticed the eggs hatched, and of course, no babies. But I had no intention of tring to raise them, that is why I just let it be. Please do share with us about the clowns and your expierence.
