Ideas please

Hi, i'm looking for some ideas of what would make a good little breeding project. The tank i have set out for them is a refugium like setup, full of macros and a few mangroves. Its modest in size at 18x10x10" but is plumbed into a much larger system.
Intially i was thinking of Bangaii cardinals but do i have any other options? I have a good relationship with a couple of lfs who import their stock so if its unusual i don't mind too much.

That set up would be perfect for cardinals. Plenty of places for the little ones to hide.

A ton of peppermints would be cool, my friend use to breed them.

I'm new to the breeding world and don't really have the spare time to devote to peps at the moment. there is someone local trying them, he's built some cool little kriesels but is having trouble when they moult.
