Idenfity Please!

I have setup my new 29gallon tank 4 days ago, and I am cycling at room temperature around 72degrees with 4hour light cycle. Here is my first hitch hiker! I honestly dont even know if it is an anenome. But it does have a yellow mouth and it was definitly eating.


This was the clearest picture I could get of it.

Aptasia possibly

Its moved quite a bit, from the top of the rock to the side. And its about the size of a quarter.

It looks like Aiptasia to me. I would probably kill it before it multiplies into a thousand more. Calcium hydroxide powder and a little water in a syringe would do the job nicely.

Ya, its definitely aspastia from what I saw in Google pictures. Has anybody successfully gotten rid of these without a syringe? My cycle hasent even started yet, do you think a cycle could kill it?

I don't think a cycle will kill it.. For some reason I never got aptasia in my tank.
I've never killed one.. but what you can do is pull out that rock and burn it. Doesn't seem like any trouble to pull that rock out. Don't burn the whole rock in gasoline..lol, just the aptasia. (Not with gasoline! )

Joes juice or Kalk paste better than burning it I think.

It's def an aptasia. You should zap it quickly

I woke up at 4am, and the little bugger was crawling on top of the rock, foot(pad) and all. I was able to suck him up with my turkey baster and then to the garbage disposole he went!
