Looks like trade name Epicystis sp. aka Rock Anemone, Flower Anemone.
To add further confusion....Looks like Phymanthus sp. is the actual correct genus for what was "Epicystis"

Is this something I should worry about? I've not had too much of an issue with it ... except it decided to latch onto the my candy cane coral which proceeded to die.
It's been in the tank for some time now ... It's not spread out. I'm fine if it will stay as only one ... but I don't want it to spread out to a bunch of them.

I am not aware of that type of anemone dividing or reproducing in captivity. They are fairly hardy, tend to dig into sand if provided. As you are aware, they can sting other animals.
If it is attached to a small enough rock and you have enough space, I would try to move it to the sand.
Good luck and feed it small meaty foods to keep it happy.
