This particular individual was caught after a storm in orlando florida. It is approximately one inch long and has a uniform brown color with light white speckles near and around the anterior portion of the animal. I planned on attempting to keep and care for it, but that is difficult when I do not know the species. I posted some of the best photos I could get of it below. The only thing I could say myself with the little experience I have with mantis shrimp is that this species is certainly not a smasher, or at least appears not to be. I don't know anything about young stomatopod development. This one appears to be a spearing hunter. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
