I am in Florida as well, and cultivate my own phytoplankton.
I add loads of the stuff into my display, and don't worry about phosphates or nitrates as it all gets consumed eventually by the macroalgae ( around 10-12 species) in the refugium.
I have a mix of LPS, SPS, and softies.
