The irony is that for $1200 they can't even tell you it's a male / female "pair". It's just two fish. Everything I have read about butterflies indicates "pairing" has nothing to do with sexual roles. ( unles this species is some sort of exception)
Those are sweet looking fish. As I recall form reading Scott W. Michaels book on Angels and Butterflyfish there are some variety of butterflyfish that pair up regardless to gender...possibly for feeding and territory advantages. He writes that they pair up as either heterosexual or homosexual pairs. Never read that about any other fish, found it interesting. I wish I could splurge on a nice dedicated little fish only tank with that pair as part of it. Tinkeri's are quite lovely IMHO .
