If you wanted to go diving and snorkling, which of these destinations would you go to

I personally would go to fiji just because I've always wanted to go the but it's a LONG trip with 2 kids.

BTW- how's your tank doing? Hoping all is well.
 
Of those four and price wasn't a factor, then Figi for sure. The wife and I may be going to Roatan, Honduras this winter. Awesome diving even right off the beach and not overly touristy yet, but it's getting there.
 
Yeah, two things holding me back from fiji, flight time (23 hours) and there is a terror warning for the island as the government was taken over last sping. Trip wouldnt be until March but not sure I want to take the chance
 
is this your first diving trip?

what about goign to australia, that is close enough to fiji and you still get great barrier, plus they speak english and there is other stuff to do (australia zoo, etc)
 
I have limited choices as this is going to be a free trip but we have to choose from destinations listed, these are the best 4 IMO

Does 23 hours include the layovers? I thought it ran more along 30 (as if the difference between 23-30 matters)

Yeah, a cue is never a good thing for tourism. Although, I thought everything had quieted down and it wasn't as big a deal as the press made it out to be.
 
My first choice is Bahama's based on their beautiful reefs and safety. Fiji would be great, but I wouldn't risk my life or my family over there with the way things are in the world.
 
Hey Clark my Brother is a dive master at this resort. He said that he has had people that has dove for over 15 years say that it is some of the best diving you could ever ask for.

And it is not a party place it is mainly a dive resort so it is not that crowded. And pretty cheap to get there.

Well, Figi is probably wonderful diving and I'd love to see it but with the current climate there, no way. Bahama has some nice diving and fairly shallow reefs making for lots of bottom time. Also, being shallower it's probably a little safer with junior divers. Its a shame Cozumel isn't on the list and I'm not sure about the place listed in Mexico, I never heard of it. Of the four I think I'd do Bahama.
