Ignitus anthias more colorful than dispar?

I keep reading this but was hoping someone could post some visual evidence!

I have never seen ignitus in real life and it's hard to find pictures of them

I am considering a school of dispar and just seeing if someone can change my mind to the ignitus instead ;)

IMO ignitus and dispar both come in various shades/colors, females especially. Some are super pale, washed out pink, some are more peach colored, and some are pretty vibrant orange.

do you think it has to do with diet or region?

they had some dispars at the lfs in their display and when they added them a few months ago i was like "meh"...

after a few months of being fed 3x a day some good foods i saw them the other day and couldn't believe how awesome they looked

I have found that feeding my anthias capelin fish roe and nutrama ova keep coloration pretty intense. PE mysis keeps them fat.

would you agree with this statement peter:

1.female ignitus are prettier than female dispar

2.male dispar and male ignitus pretty much look the same ?

1. Usually, from what I have seen at least.

2. I suppose that's a personal preference, but I find the male ignitus MUCH prettier. Mostly due to the red tail I think.

thinking about just taking a shot in the dark and ordering some

any recommendations on which site?

btw do you have any pics/vids of yours?!?

I like the ignitus more from what photos I have seen, the ones on LA are good but not what everyone has there tank lit with. I was planning on doing carberryi and resplendent anthias, but this thread has led me to like the ignitus over the carberryi lol. I would recommend ordering through LA or having your LFS order some for you. You can get free shipping on orders over $225 if you order that many of them...
