Phishguy, you are one brave soul...Is that a domino damsel in your tank???LOL, agressive little suckers when they grow up. Very nice collection.

Yeah, it is. Was probably a dumb idea!!! However, I was never in this hobby for the fish! How odd right? I have a ton of flow and a lot of light on a relatively small tank, so no top is possible. I was tired of walking into my office and seeing a 150 wrasse laying dead on the floor!!! Everything that was expensive jumped or got sucked up before I removed all the maxijets! I am done stocking and I think the big yellow damsel rules the roose and keeps everyone in check. Totally unrelated to this topic, I do have a mandarin, my favorite fish who has never come out front in the month since I got him. He is super fat and eats like a pig, he is the only pod eating fish in the tank, but he is always chilling in the back. Do u think the 400w over the 30g is what is stopping him from coming out? I would love to me able to not have to be a contortiounist to get a peek at him. I almost have to kill myself just to check and make sure he is alive everyday. And he is one of the best looking specimins I have ever seen! Would be great to get a picture of him.

Lets keep the pics flowing, this thread is great.:smokin:

Off topic response, mandarins are notoriously shy and just like any fish are unique. My guess is that he is on the shy side and intimidated by other fish you keep and prefers to stay safe and hidden. I had a pair of mandarins years ago and the male was always out and about in direct light, 1200w of MH/VHO, while his mate was always hidden in the rocks all day long. She only came out during their mating dances at night right before lights out. She eventually disappeared after a few years but I had him up until a few months ago (6 years in all) when he finally died in my smaller tank, he was harassed by another fish that I could not catch. I tried to catch him as well with no luck. I was bummed.
