Well, here is some more!
This was supposed to be my 40 gal frag tank... lol
It is fed by my 90 gal SPS tank
Named micros in pic:

Strawberry Fields
Angel eyes
eden
blackjack
koosh
ufo
sativa
Chocolate Fondue
Green Verde
FR Alien eye colony (in back)

Along with those there are the
scarlet and gray morph
Metallic orange/red frag in front right of pic
A once ailing mico colony that is coming back w/ a vengence

Had to turn the skimmer down - water too clean w/ all of these guys filtering!

Yeah doc! Those two (BJ and Koosh) are growing very fast! I fragged the koosh already because it was getting too big for one frag plug (haven't figured out where I am going to mount one of em!).

Nice! What's DLC?

Hey there, what do micro do when they are sunburnt by the light or too close to the light? do they lighten up? I noticed darker rings forming around the polyps on my red micro, but they went away I think because i moved it elswhere. What would cause that/ more light or less. Im afraid im too far or too close to light and cant make up my mind,.

I got a new micro today from DLC.. yup Dark Lord Coral :D

Its awesome.. I got a sweet orange yuma also.. I'll post pics when I finish acclimating.

IME it just varies. For the most part, micros like alot of light.

Delight is on target... It varies by morph some will darken and some will lighten... I have found that the most reliable indicator is as in all corals extension good extension = happy coral. Since you metioned it was red... I have found the reds to darken when they begin to burn and the green in them just goes away almost until they are ugly brown... Depends upon where the micro came from but I would start low and raise it 3-6 inches each week until it can tolerate the very high light... I also have found that for some reason T5s will more likely burn them than a MH??? Dunno?

so the polyps are supposed to come out in the day. mine do come out . was not sure if they were hungry or if they thought it was to dark ( like nighttime or something)

Yes, all 73 colonies sit about 3-4 inches under the surface of 2X 250 watt 20K radiums and 4X 110 watt VHO these lights are mounted about 6 inches above that surface :) all of my micros are used to very direct, intense 20K light... BUT not all micros that are out there are used to this and must therefore be slowley acclimated... Last month I got an awesome full size colony very similar to Genesis I was stoked! she was gorgeous! and after acclimation I placed this colony right with all of the other colonies.. later that very day when I looked at it all the color was gone and it looked shriveled and brown :( AGGG! I had burned it ... now the colony sits at the bottom of my tank slowley healing for a gentle acclimation and climb back up to the top... minus about 50 polyps :(

Do you run HQI or electronic ballasts?

thanks, Chris

I run electronic Ballasts on that tank...

Id ing micros is a challenge even from great pictures because tank conditions totally morph them ect... But I'll take a shot...
Not exact But a shot

#1 Purple Haze or maybe one of the Jokers
#2 Actinic bathed Taffy / Paradise perhaps? pulled in Angle eyes?
#3 Jawbreaker? Afterburner? Nah prolly not too much blue
#4 Love N Hate? Blazin Cherries? Strawberry fields?

Best guesses from this Micro noob
Other guesses gang?
