Finally managed to get a new place, but can only have a tank so large. Decided on the lagoon because of the dimensions and the fact that I didn't want to deal with all the filtration requirements of large systems. My fiancé likes corals that move, I myself like sticks so this will be a mixed reef. Idea is to cover every inch of rock with coral to have the look of a mature reef, instead of a collection of frags.
So far I have purchased the following -
33lbs of Walt smith 2.1 rock
100w neotherm heater
Master reef test kit
25 lagoon - obviously
Kessil 360we with controller
20 lbs Fiji pink
Sicce 1.5
Built my own custom stand for around $100 after seeing build quality of IM stand at the price. Removed the pump that came with tank and replaced with the sicce, and still having rattling/noise issues so that's pretty irritating. Right now the tank is just water and a pile of rock. Put enough rock to give plenty of space for tons of corals while trying to keep it low enough to fit stuff towards the back of tank. Any suggestions ( especially on the noisy pump) or anything else for that matter are welcome.
I am in the process of finding a RODI unit as I will be doing 5g water changes per week and don't want to constantly be at lfs. Also plan to get a mp10 soon as well as dosing pump if needed. Will see if water changes are sufficient or maybe manual dosing if I can get by.
Have no idea what I want for stock as of yet, just want to have a lot of movement. Thanks for looking.
Sorry for crappy pics, I use an IPhone and it does terrible when it comes to blue in a photo.
