I'm Back After 10 Years.

Greeetings,

Well I have been away for almost 10 years. Moved and never set up, well that seems like it will be changing. I will be going from a 75g to 150g. I know the first thing I need to do is read and get caught up- seems much has changed. My first question is regarding pumps. Back in my day the Mag Pumps were nice pumps now I am reading about DC pumps and controlling or adjusting the flow. :spin2:

If you guys can point me in the direction of some good reading materials regarding pumps. That would be appreciated. If you have any suggestions on dream items or must have items please include that so I may review and learn all over again.

My intention is to have a reef system, live rock, live sand, power heads for circulation and powerful lights for the various corals I would like to maintain. This will be a slow process so please feel free to pull up a chair and enjoy the ride with me.

Welcome back

As far as equipment.. I think it would be best to start reading thru the Lighting and equipment forum threads . when it comes to equipment you will Find many opinions on here . Mostly they revolve around Price and Quality...
I will save from posting what i use and like.. BUt i will say i have a mag9.5 and a mag 24 still in service .. the 9.5 i know is over 20 years old.. but yea its a power hungry beast ..

Thank you ericarenee really appreciate the post. It is fun to be back after so many years. So far the research is going well. Looking hard at the Ecotech M1/L1 I think I like the idea of being gable to up the flow rate if the need be. I will be posting more as I have more questions....Thanks
