Hey guys my name is Hayden i'm 17 and Ive been to a few meetings awhile back but stopped going because school and sports hand me on edge 24/7 and it began to take a toll on my 29gallon bio cube i decided to give the fish to a friend knowing i didn't have the time to take care of them and the tank just sat there with some zoas and a 6 headed frogspawn as summer came around i got a job and some money started coming in and one day i walked by the tank and just had to fix it so i started getting some stuff to help with all the algae and the chemical problems but then it was all halted when my parents sat down with me and my brothers and revealed to us that our grandmother was diagnosed with colleen cancer. This hit me hard and a spiraled into a mild form of depression completely giving up on the tank. so i spent weeks in the hospital with her and my family and then surgery day came along. our family gathered in the hospital at 5a.m. as they prepped her for surgery 15 hours later she was taken out of surgery and the road to recovery began. she never had to go through chemo or anything the surgery had successfully removed all the cancer along with a foot of her small intestine and part of her colleen. today she still has a clean bill of health cancer has not shown up anywhere and about 3 days ago i decided (since she helped me start the biocube) that if she could make it through then what she helped me with should also and i began cleaning. this weeks paycheck going to buy a new CUC Ive been doing 25% water changes a lot to try and help the cloudiness and cut the hours of light my tank has to stop they growth of the wicked green hair algae that has almost taken over and threatened to smother everything. that's plan one and we will go from there when that's done. also id love to start a 3 gallon jbj picotope that i have plans for a DIY stand and sump for the little thing to go next to my bed to keep some amazing zoas and maybe a small fish. idk what all i want in there but ill sort it out once my life paces back to normal. i look forward to seeing you guys at the next meeting if i can make it!! :wavehand: goodbye for now
