I'm getting tired.....

Some of you may remember my huge cyano problem, I've had for the last 2 months. I've done every thing, lights out for 3 days (2 times) added GFO, even did the red slime remover. Params are good, cept maybe a little nitrates from time to time, nothing ever bad. They usually hang out around 5-10ppm. I do 10-20% H2O changes every 7 days. I've had Salt in the past, this isn't my first rodeo. I'm down to 2 hours a day on the lights, and have been for some time. I've never had to battle cyano this bad. It's really got me frustrated, and I'm thinking of dismantling the aquarium, and getting out of the hobby. Is there any last ditch effort yall recommend before I'm done? Its a 55 gallon, going on four months. 60 lbs of LR, 50 lbs of LS, 2 Damsels, 1 GSP, Condy, Some xenia. Calcium 490, Nitrates 5, SG 1.026, Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0, Phosphates 0, Temp 79. Just tested lastnight. Thx

The only way I got a handle on mine was to add long hoses to my 350 mag filter and physically removed it by vacumming it out. it took me several times doing this, but now it is almost non-existent. Hope this helps.

My 55 is sumpless, just running a skimmer, gonna pull it apart and clean it tonight, see if maybe that'll help things out. Not skimming like it used to. Does anyone recommend me dosing vodka or vinegar as a last ditch effort?? Eagle, I've tried vacuuming, and seems to not help. I guess I could get a smaller hose and try it. I've been using a regular gravel hose to do my H2O changes, and I'd try to vacuum the cyano, but it'll just break up and fall back to bottom of hose. I just did NOT have this problem in my last salt aquarium, In fact, I never had a cyano outbreak in my last tank, and its a 29 gallon. I'm done!!!!! Yall are my last resort, I'm giving it 7 days to hear yalls thoughts, and I'll go from there. Thx again.

Yeah, I added GFO about a month ago, and just changed it out about 10 min as of this text. Also, took apart the skimmer just a few min ago, cleaned it real good. Moved some of the power heads around to stir up some sand bed. I found my last skimmer from my 29 gallon tank, cleaned it out, and hooked it up, its running now. Now my primary skimmer has a leak after I cleaned it!!!! Seems as though the o-ring is bad, and the skimmer is 4 months old!!!!! You see, it just seems as though everything is working against me. Now my skimmer????? It's under warranty, not concerned about that, but this tank has been one thing after another, and I'm tired of the BS, so keep them coming, and thx again.
