I'm gutted, just killed 1/3 of my fish

Thanks again for all the kind words of encouragement. My baby bluelines came in yesterday and are in the QT and like all the LA fish I get they arrived in great shape. Both were eating mysis and pecking at the LR within hours of being released into QT. The larger of the two was picking on the smaller so the big girl went into the acclimation box, hopefully she will mellow out.

I'm really hoping these two pair up, I really love the blueline angel, one of the most personable fish I have ever kept and would love to see these guys pair up.

Darn it all! Hate to hear this, but I've had a similar loss, back in early 2010 . January actually. I didn't pay attention to why my mushrooms were all closed up that AM, in a rush to get to my job. Got home early evening. Tank cloudy. Over 50% mortality in my 36 gallon reef. The fatalities included my C. argi angel, one of my favorite angels of all time!
Heater had malfunctioned & apparently killed a couple of Rhodactis Corralimorphs. Which in turned, nuked the whole tank ( these things are really, REALLY toxic FYI).
Was an awful blow & a cruel lesson in humility.
I notice these things occur when we get to set into routines & often stop paying CLOSE attention to our tanks.
Any way, I definitely feel your pain!
Sorry to hear about this, but you do have all your equipment & your survivors to work with. Rebuilding is not quite as bad as starting completely from scratch. Advice I got & will pass on here.
Condolences,
Matt
