I've read through many of the stickies, but I dont have all of the info that is suggested. If it's okay with ya'll, I'll just give what parameters i've got and hopefully someone can help me out.

Lighting: 4 bulb T5's
Tank: 75 gallon standard tank
Rock: 90ish lbs. of live rock
Temp: 78 degrees
Salinity: 1.025
Sump: 36 gallon bow front 3 chamber DIY sump. First chamber has a Reef Octopus 150 Skimmer. Second chamber is full of Filter Floss(I dont have my refuge up yet). Third chamber is the return pump(mag drive 9).
Fish: 2 regular baby clowns. I HAD 2 green chromis but they've been MIA for the past 2 days.
Other inhabitants: 12 or 13 Blue legged hermits, 2 mexican turbo snails, 10 "zombie snails", 1 Skunk Cleaner shimp(I had 2, but one's been MIA for about 2 weeks.
Ammonia: less than .20
Nitrates: close to 0
Nitrites: around 20
I DO use RO/DI water for everything.

The coral's I've got are these:

Flintstone Zoa's
Radioactive orange Paly's
Yellow Hornet Zoa's
Tequila Sunrise Zoa's
Glow in the dark Goni's

I've had a few zoa's for about 2 weeks and they've been doing fine. then the other day, I came home from work and ALL of them were closed. I waited another day and still closed. I came home today and still closed. They're placed close to the bottom of the tank. Some are in somewhat direct flow of my power heads. I've been feeding them ReefSnow every other day and they LOVE it. however, they're not open anymore so I cant feed em directly. I've just been putting the Snow in direct flow of one of my power heads the past day or so. I have NO idea why they've closed up like this. It's frustrating me. Is there something that I should be doing that I havent done? I've done a 10 gallon water change every day for the past 5 days trying to get them to open up. My ammonia level was a bit high a few days ago(.75).

I know this isnt exactly painting the best picture, but I just dont wanna lose my zoa's while I wait to get a test kit for all of the stuff that I need. Any, and I mean ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

I had my spike, and then it went down to zero. That's when I added the 2 green chromis. Now they're MIA. The 2 Clowns are doing well. I dosed my tank today with Iodine, Calcium, Magnesium and Essential Elements. Hopefully that will help out the corals. The guy at my LFS told me that changing my sump probably stressed everything out.

I'm testing for Calcium. I did not dose Mag yet. I thought I had, but I didnt. Why is it too early for dosing? I'm new at this, that's why I ask.

Sounds like you are going to have a nice system, but for now you need to slow down and give your system time to catch up. I would try and find those 2 chromis and if dead get them out of the tank.

I would agree your tank is probably still cycling, and your missing shrimp and fish are most likely dead which is causing the spike in ammonia (.20) and Nitrites (20) -- both bad numbers for your inhabitants. This is also most likely the reason your zoas are closed.

I also agree with sailorinokc...don't dose anything. Right now, with the load you have, water changes will refresh anything you need. Also with your levels like they are, I'd be very careful about how much you are feeding.

Happy Reefing

I was running the skimmer the whole time. My zoa's are melting as we speak. I dont know how to get them out since I used that white putty to put the frag's in place. Those things will NOT come loose. I've added some additional bacteria in the tank and I'm letting it do it's thing. I'm not adding or dosing ANYTHING until all of my levels are for SURE good to go.

It's so frustrating because those zoa's cost me over 100 bucks! This hobby is SO frustrating when you dont take your time. I made a big mistake by rushing this process. I saw my first coral(duncan) doing well so I just figured my water was good to go. I then added 7 different zoa's. A few days later they were all closed up. I just dont get it.

I also checked my levels this morning. Ammonia, Nitrites, and Nitrates are all at zero. By my NOOB standards, my water is good to go. I also checked my Calcium level and it was at 390. A little low, but not enough to where I would think my zoa's would flip out like that.

I just dont know what to do at this point. LOL! Malawi Cichlids are SO much easier! LOL.
