I'm Pondering

Well, I'm pondering getting out...Not sure yet but just got hit with a $6,000 dental bill.

Have had so much going on with the death in my family, I just feel I don't have the time to dedicate to it.

Just heartbreaking to think of all the money I have in it and how much it depreciates. Not to mention the fact that I'd have to part it out.
I hardly even enjoy it anymore. It's more stressful than anything and I'm even past all the annoying NTS stuff...

Just rambling

I would have to imagine what kind of denatl bill that large wouldnt physically hurt as well?

That price tag makes me imagine bad things happening t my teeth at the hands of a dentist.

Consider asking your dentist for a monthly payment plan. It may be too late to negotiate if the work has been done. But it's worth a try. I know someone how did this and the dentist was happy to help.

For bills that large, the dentist doesn't do it. However, I could have done a capital one care plan which is for medical stuff, etc... but the APR sucked

Did you get into a hockey fight ?

Nah...Just took a crappy job of taking care of my teeth over the years as I am terrified of the dentist. I did the sedation dentistry....I'm only 26 so I had to get it done

sorry to hear that man, at least you're taking the right steps to getting your dental health back in check

I left the hobby for about 3-4 years while I was finishing up my first bachelors degree and it didnt take much to get me back in....I say if you decide to get out, to keep most of your equipment (if you can afford to) because you'll get the itch again when the time is right and it'll be easy to get back in (hell, even if you sell it all and come back in, it'll be easy to get setup around here...it didnt take me more than a few weeks to have everything I need, purchased new/used from all of the locals down here)

That's the thing, I'd have to get rid of it all as I do need the cash.

One of the hardest things is my stand/canopy...It was custom made exactly how I wanted, then shipped here, and then I had a guy here locally, stain it, etc... So, the amount of time I have into dealing with the stand is one of the hardest to part with. Thanks and the fishes... Most the corals I'd probably chop up and give away as I've had so many people help me out. But, I have a pretty good amount invested and I just don't see getting a very good return on it.

that's one of the problems with "getting out" for financial reasons

although you would eliminate a small monthly cost, you'd still be taking a large up front hit (although you'd have some cash on hand)

of course over the long run, eliminating the monthly costs would put you out ahead, but its the whole "quality of life" part of the equation that you must deal with

sell a kidney on the black market... or go to a sperm bank?

just trying to put some constructive ideas out there.

stripper??

no comprende?

either you are a stripper offering services to cheer him up? or you are telling him that you want him to be your stripper for money?

--On another note, Reggae fish, i am sorry about your currant situation. if there is anything i can do to help let me know and i will see if i can help.

I think half of everyone in here has been in and out and always regrets selling and having to re buy when you decide to come back.

hang in there! I just had to pay the [violation] IRS almost 5G and I will be behind on some bills for a few months, but I will rebound.

Go drink a few beers and try not to worry about money spent and concentrate on how to make it up. Look at the glass as half full. IMHO

If you get rid of everything then you will lose your ARSE and you will not be able to come by and get some primo free stuff. I am over the pox BTW

"Captain Jack will get you high tonight, and take you to that special island" B Joel----from way back, when he was amazing!

Hang in there!

Thanks trottie. Actually there is...Can I have one of your kidneys
No-honestly, I appreciate it!

Well, as I walked in my house, I looked over and I don't think I can get rid of it, not to mention the pain it would be to even tear it down. stressfull also...I'm gonna hang in there.

I might have either a Tunze 6000 or 6080 for sale as I think some of my SPS is getting TOO much direct flow. It's killing 1/2 of them. The side in which the flow is hitting...I've been so busy, I've just let it continue to happen which is horrible. I just need to spend a couple hours on it.

I'm going to drain my sump and put down some kind of mat since I had those doors put on, there is salt creep that gets down there and I don't want it to ruin my pergo floors.

I need to hit about 8 aptaisa and 8 majano's with some joe's juice

I need to pick up some of the snail shells that didn't make it

Move my flow around

Water Change

So not much but I've just had other priorities (phil, you're a good example) I should be fine after that. I don't have any algae (maybe if I look really close a spot or so) so it's not all that bad, just kindof frustrating because the corals I've lost/gone backwards on are my fault...Falling into torch's, etc...too much direct flow, and waiting a bit too long to change my phosban and carbon...

Thanks everyone for the support as I know everyone's been through this. Just frustrating.

I know how you feel. I just did about 5 grand worth. I kept putting it off and then a root canal forced me into starting the work. 21 fillings needed. Only 1 cavity though, the rest were fixing other problems. Crown, root scaling, etc.

I too was thinking the same thing for the last month or so. I wasn't even looking at the tank. Somehow, it survived as well as when I'm messing with it. A LOT of glass scraping was needed though!

In a few days I was going to order a tunze 6055 for Ange's tank so if you do want to sell the 6000 LMK how much you want. But honestly you'd do much better with a multicontroller or the aquasurf for your AC. I know I know more $$.
