I'm thinking zoapox???

Have invested in a couple of small colonies and few polyps frags over the past few months, and about a month ago, my rpes, that were a large healthy colony, started to close up and waste away, along with several other colonies(2 polyp nightmares, have closed up for about a month now, but have not wasted away yet). Down to about 8 polyps now from around 20 for the rpes. I cannot detect any signs of nudis or their eggs, so I am basically thinking amphipod attack(which I would almost rule out because some zoas and palys next to each other are not affected), or zoapox. No clear pic yet, but similar to what I have seen from others on here. Problem is, I cannot yet locate some furan-2, but is lugol's solution enough to stave away the fungus? I am doing 5 minute dips in a half gallon bowl with a drop of lugol's. Suggestions?

If you really want to rule out the amphipod idea, do a revive dip. It will kill off and pods on there so at least you can see if they are on the zoas. Might also reveal any other predator on there as well. If you want to be double sure on the nudis do a Flat worm exit dip as that will kill them off.

The salinity does not help being that high, it is really salinity swings that hurts corals. Sometimes when I am not paying attention my salinity can creep up there, but as long as I bring it back down slowly things are fine.

Look for hydriods as well (thin white things with a puffy tip) I was having trouble with them for a while until I saw them and took care of them.

The only know cure for zoa pox is furan II so I don't think lugols will help. Check out some pics of zoa pox before you go crazy trying to find it.

I just bought some furan II along with a new ATO. The lugols dips have been making the pods scurry out of the colonies, can't blame them or rule them out the opportunistic omnivores. Polyps are holding tight, not dissolving anymore, but some still not opening.
