impeller stuck stream 6000

I was doing some usual maintenance and for the first time - I had to tug a little to hard to get the impeller magnet out - usually I just lift it out and it comes - this time I pulled to the extent I was afraid it may break - so I just reassembled until I get some hints on this. I had it soaking in vinegar for a while before I tried to bring it out - it works fine otherwise - any hints? - should I actually just keep pulling harder?

You might have the brakes engaged. Make sure it turns easily and then pull out. If some calcium deposits are present it may require some force.

Had the same thing happen with mine and here is what I did:

Removed the propeller by taking off the screw on top and got the magnet assembly so that it would turn after soaking in vinegar for about a half a day. It still would not come out but would turn so when not going against the brake, I connected back to the controller and let it run for about ten min. Did have to coax it to start turning while the power was on however then placed the whole unit back into the vinegar and let it run. After that it slipped right out and then removed the calcium that had built up.

To prevent things from going this far we need to clean at least once a month. I also order the new assembly #6100.700 that seems to run a lot better.

thanks - what new assembly? what is different, is this the one that has no brakes - does it run as quiet?
