Imperator a cleaner??

My wife just called me and told me she is watching my juvi imperator angel acting as a cleaner to my other fish. She says my 2 triggers were acting like my tangs do toward cleaner shrimp in my reef. She called me back and told me the foxface is doing the same thing except that he didnt "clean" him, but did "clean" the triggers.

I have read somewhere that juvi angels are usually found with cleaner shrimps but have never heard of them acting as cleaners.
Anyone ever heard of this?

Well..... I couldnt find anything about this on RC but i did with google. It seems juvi angels are cleaners!!

Many species are cleaners as juveniles. Clarion angels even clean as adults if I remember...pretty cool behavior to watch. Good luck with the emporer :)

Has anyone ever seen a sixline wrass do that? I saw mine picking some stuff of of my regal tang last week. The tang was just sitting there like it would if a cleaner fish was cleaning it and the wrass was picking at several places on it.

contrary to popular belief, most wrasses besides the thallosuma genus perform cleaning functions even into adulthood. they just dont go to it with gusto like dedicated cleaners do :) <~~~steve
