Imperator sick...need help...

Okay, I have this 6 inch Christmas island imperator that was eating everything I put in the tank for the first 2 days. On the third day in the tank, he is covered in what looks like Ich and doesn't want to eat. Only other fish in there is a Naso Tang that is doing fine. No signs of aggression between the two. Water params are all normal, temp is stable. What could it be? Could I have over fed? Is that even possible? I fed him frozen krill and Spectrum pellets, loads of it and he gobbled it all up.

It could have come infected with ich or velvet. Either way all your other fish will be infected so you need to setup a QT for all fish and treat appropriately. Do a FW dip. If the white dots fall off then velvet and only treatment is copper. If they don't fall off then ich and you can do hypo or copper. Personally I prefer, and use on all type of angels, Cupramine copper.

I second that, large angels are very resilient to copper treatment. Even with dwarf angels, I have never had issues.

i maintain 4 fish only systems at work, all rang to 3000G to 2000G. i run cupramine at a 3 to 3 1/2 range and i might have a fish die a day and is mostly caused by other tank mates or not eating and stressed. but you can also try a melafix or pimafix, an antibacterial solution to solve some problems and is reef safe to inverts and corals.
