impulse purchasing strikes again

:headwally:
So yes, before i even start, I KNOW BETTER. But i did it anyway. And now I'm paying for it. So this past Sunday i placed a large order with LA for various fish and when I was about to hit checkout I said "hey, I may as well see what they have on sale just to see if there's anything i may want". This was problem number 1. So I'm scrolling through the sale items and i see a Kleins Butterfly and think to myself "Man! he looks Awesome! And only $14? ADD TO CART!" This of course, would be problem #2. I know butterflies have a rep. for being coral munchers for the most part but remembered seeing in this months tank of the month that BradleyJ had one in his beautiful aquarium(absolutely OUTSTANDING BTW if your reading this) and thought, hey BRADLEY DID IT! WHY CANT I? Of course I forgot the golden rule of fishkeeping(i dont know if it actually is but for my intents and purposes it is now :D ) that all fish are INDIVIDUALS and act differently in given tanks and given situations. So Since placing the little guy in the tank(and I do mean little -he's only like 2") he seems to have destroyed at least 2 fairly large acro colonies and a carpet anemone. The point of all this? DO NOT IMPULSE BUY. We have all heard the warnings and probably most of us have done it more than a few times before and some maybe without any bad effects. But it will catch up with you. As soon as my lights turn back on I'll see if I can post some pics of satans little helper and his devastation.

I have an LFS near me that I can trade him in at. The problem is as much as I hate how he's destroying my corals and my nem I do like the fish, he has a ton of personality.

Dang, does sound like another tank. I really really like butterflies too, but dont want to risk my corals to them. Hope you get to keep your butterfly and corals. :D

Well, the good news is that they eat aiptasia. The bad news is they also eat animals we like to keep.

that really sucks. i was going to get one at liveaquaria for my softies tank since i have an abundance of leathers. when placing the order, the klein was sold out. maybe you took the last one. lol.

Well I have plenty of aiptasia for him to go after so I guess after he cleans out my coral he can clean up those. Course knowing my luck he probably only has expensive tastes and won't eat a single aiptasia.

No doubt, the fish wants to eat the good stuff first. Your post probably will not stem the tide of "but this fish will be different", but thanks for sharing. Hope you find them good homes.

No I'm sure it won't but at least I was able to vent about my little demon fish
