Imput on coral

Hello everyone, I would like your input on my Frog Spawn. You will see in the before and after pics that the two heads on the bottom (as it sits) are not extending like the rest of it. The after photo here was taken a few minutes ago and has some extension but as the day goes on it really pulls the polyps almost all the way in. The only thing I changed pysically was I went to LEDs in the front but still have 2 T5s in the back. I thought maybe now it is a lighting issue. What do you think? Thank you in advance.

some LPS will inflate themselves to get more light - so that is a posibility
but it could be due to other things like a change in water flow, feeding, reaching out to check for new growth area (but normally done with sweepers), etc

Maybe you missed what I am asking about. Not about the good extension but rather the heads underneath not extending as the rest of the coral.

okay - I had colonies do that when that section wasn't getting enough light

sorry I was thinking what was different in the after picture was the top section was extending more then normal

Have seen polyps retract when a new polyp is growing (possibly to give the new polyps lights?). Also, euphyllia will retract when flow is too strong/direct. Moved powerheads lately?

If those polyps are too close to the underlying rock, they may become irritated by the rock surface when they're fully extended. Just a guess, though.

The pic is decieving, there is about 5" there and when they were fully extended they didn't touch.
