In-line water softener

Does anyone need an in-line water softener for their RODI or refrigerator?

I ordered one and my wife had a whole-house softener put in before it arrived.

It has 1/4" o.d. push-lock fittings like on most RO units

marketed to extend the life of your filters and membrane, I paid $7 and would like to recover that if possible.

Does anyone want this for free? It is of no use to me now.

Still brand new, arrived from air, water, ice on wednesday.
