In need of liverock, or "dry" rock

I am in need of liverock or dried "liverock" to get extra filtration for my 210G tank I am transforming back to saltwater. I have several triggers (babies) now living in my 55G for the time being, so I would like to get the big tank up and running and cure the LR right in the tank if need be. But if I get dry rock, I will need to get it now, so the tank will be ready when these babies grow! I am using "fake" corals, I don't plan to go down that road again, lol, so all I need is some rock, for filtration, caves, ect.

I am ready to buy now, and not looking to ship, so local pickup if not to far away is what I need. I can't afford anything expensive, and need about 100lbs, maybe more. I don't want to overdo it on the tank. But problem is, I just found out my 9 month old dane has hip dysplasia in both hips, and the surgery is $2500 a side. So, no breeding in the future, because this is genetic, and he was guaranteed against it, as his parents were both tested and found to be good-excellent hips. Vet says no guarantees in this disease. Breeder will replace pup, but he is so good, it is impossible for me to let him suffer and know he will surely have to be put down before he is 2 yrs old. He is only 9 months and 135lbs now, and is suppose to be 220lbs. I can't imagine with him having pain now, what it will be at full weight.

So if I had known this, I would have put this tank on hold, but I already bought the triggers, and I know I cannot stop them from outgrowing the 55G tank, and I need to get the other tank ready, which means LR. There are 2 clowns, 2 nigers, 1 Undulated, 1 bursa, and 1 dogface puffer. I don't think they will make it more than a month or so in that small tank, or they will start to fight eventually from being cramped.

Much help in a good price appreciated. Like I said, I have cash and ready to buy for the right price. Nothing fancy, just good 'ol liverock, or base rock.

Thanks :D

I hope you have researched the undulated trigger. He may eventually become a terror. Sorry about your puppy.:( Marcye has base rock available.

TFB has all the liverock you want at $2.99 lb due to remodeling sale. Fiji must go! New live rock bins coming on Wednesday evening so it has to be cleared out.

What is TFB?

Undulated didn't seem to have any different profile than the other triggers? What should I be looking for? He reminds me of my clown tang in his coloring. He's beautiful.

Marcye, how much for the base rock?

Thanks!:D

TRADE

TRADE

I would also be willing to trade my dual ballast PS 250watt metal hallides /and bulbs for a significant amount of liverock, more larger pieces of porous rock though. This would help with my money/dog surgery situation. Maybe if not enough rock, someone would like to trade me their retro fit endcaps for T12's and bulbs, or the like, in addition to a large amount of liverock for the metal hallides.

It's an idea for the moment. My boyfriend will not be home until Friday night to do the dismantling from the canopy till then though.

Let me know what you think.:D

a bit OT - but re: your dane's sx - you may want to check online to see if there is a great dane rescue group in your area - sometimes they will work with owners to help with major surgeries or may have a referral for a vet that will work with you on sx costs - we have had a couple rescue old english mastiffs so I know the feeling - the bigger the dog the bigger the bill.

Good luck

I've been online looking since I saw you posted this, and can't find anyone or agency that will assist with this cost. Basically all I am finding is adoptions and surrenders. Oh, and donations. That's about it. Sure could use the help, but looks like I am on my own with this massive surgery :(

I have some rock that needs to go ASAP, I'm braking down the tank, PM me for info, 2 dollars a pound!

Also have other stuff, check my for sale thread here on ORCA

Thanks

Thanks

I have finally got all the liverock that I think I will need for the extra filtration. Thanks to all of you that made me the offers, especially thanks to markgross for the great deal!
Thanks everyone!
