Wow so much has happened in six months. For starters, the hair algea came back, and we had a 3 day power outage over the summer where the temperature got up to 120 degrees; my seahorses died just a few hours before the power came back on. After this, i tore down the tank compleatly. I dumped my fuge and scrubed everything clean. I took out all the live rock as well, and soaked my sand in fresh water for a couple of days. I painted the back of the tank orange as well. Then i filled it back up w/ salt water and cycled it all over again. I got a couple new pieces of rock from my LFS, along w/ some calurpa and put that in the fuge. I also got a new light for the tank and tinted my windows in my room green so that the tank didn't recieve direct sunlight. The new light is a much smaller T-8 light.
After I cycled everything i got a new cleanup crew which consisted of 10 nassarius snails, 15 scarlet reef hermits, 5 astrea turbo snails, 2 peppermint shrimp, and 3 mexican turbo snails. (the peppermint shrimp have since eaten the nassarius snails)
About 2 months ago i got two new Ocean Rider Sunbursts. Both are doing great!
