Well I am hoping a wrasse I have in hosp will make it. I am in a loss for words to what he has.
Last Thursday before work I seen he had been doing the death roll. I then in a hurry put him in a saltwater/metrodiozol (Spelling I know) and methylene blue dip because i know a little from past experiences with wrasses, and let him sit for 20 minutes and then placed in my hosp tank. When I got back from work he had gotten worse, and was just floating at the top of the tank. I then looked him over and seen frayed fins on one fin and a mark about . 5 inches tall and 1.5 long. Not bad just a light area that looks like maybe some scratches or some bite marks. I thought maybe a bak infection so I dosed with myacin plus. I left that for 2 days and did not see any improvement but he was still breathing well. So I started researching and could not find anything I could relate to it so I did a 100% waterchange with my display water and ran carbon for a few hrs. I placed him in a paraguard dip for 20 minutes all the time watching him and I seen him poop a long white and stringy poop. Then I said ahaaa now I think its internal paracites.
I placed the fish in the hosp with new water, and left for the lfs.
I was advised by a person there that seems pretty smart with fish. (Owner) and he advised to treat with copper and lower salt levels, and I probably would not see results to about 4-5 days of treatment.
This is 3 days now and no improvement. He seems to be breathe better, but no body movements other than an occasional fin flare or eye movement.
I feel bad if I am making him suffer. Should I give him a few more days to recover or am I doing the right treatment?
I am startung to second guess myself!
All my other fish are fine and are eating like pigs and getting along great.
I am at a loss.
If anybody could offer some advise i would appreciate it.
Thanks!
