Hello all, and thanks for the warm welcome!
I will post a breakdown of equipment on our tanks soon. I am in the process of building gravity fed top off systems for both tanks, and both are different configurations due to space limitations. If Santa brings us a new camera, I will post a few picts.
I have been to union aquarium a few times, although I'm not too fond of aiptasia, so I tend to buy most items from Something fishy.

one thing i have learned as a coral man is you have to look around. the best reef tanks have been stocked from many sources. deciding that you wont go here or wont go there is limiting your reefs possiblities. for example when any LFS gets shipment there are a certain number of show pieces that you may get. so by checking out all shipments in an area you can garenntee a beautiful coral grab. i always shop all the lfs in my area...its a trick of the trade and youll find great deals by doing this versus just buying from one place. ask around no one seems to shop at davie jones...but i check it out periodically and have gotten corals that were rare and out of sight from there....same goes for eddies , swamp, something fishey , union,ect! all sources you must continuously explore. !!!

davie jones is in albany. small place but has salt and corals. really nice ones too. but a bit on the high end of asking prices. but he ussually has beautiful large corals.

I never knew about Davie Jones or Swamp Bottom. I may have to stop in on our next rainy day tour of LFS.
