In-wall tank build

this is how I put my 100 gallon tank in the wall.

before putting it in the wall

I chose a to put it in the wall in my living room with the back side of the tank would be hidden inside a closet.
after measuring the living-room and finding the exact middle spot i made a paper cut out of the tank and taped up on the wall. I glad i did that because I found out that the normal hight of the tank would have been way to low and would have looked very bad in that room. (so I eventually raised the tank aprox. 1 foot using wood "I-beams")

We all know what the inside of a closet looks like so, This is the closet with some work in progress. stage 1: cutting the sheetrock and the studs.

I also at this point put in 1 "I-Beam" so I could make my measurments and also put in a "rail" over the cut studs.

Sure enough, I ran into a hot wire, so I re-routed that around the tank and made a couple extra outlets inside the closet.

Next, cut the sheetrock all the way

then I put up a wall to cover the studs and made the electrical outlets.

Then I put in the tank. it didn't quite go as simple as that but with a file and a lot of determination it went in. Then a made the wood frame to cover up some imperfections.

You can see that the wall tank would have looked really bad if it was 1 foot lower. like this, it is centered in the exact middle of the wall lert to right AND top to bottom.

Looks great! Nice job.

Are all the mechanicals are on the other side of the wall in the room behind that wall?

You need some sps in there! :lmao: I've got some frags for you if you're interested.

Most importantly, it looks like you've scored a high WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor).

it's think it's about 45 inch from the floor. I measured the room height & width and tried to put the tank in the center of both.
