Increasing oxygen in tank

I was unaware of this, does this hold true for QT too? I currenly have one in my QT to help with increasing oxygen since I only have a small HOB sponge filter and a powerhead. I had only the filter and powerhead for the first day of my new clown being in QT and he seemed kind of docile, wasn't really swimming around a lot. Last night I unplugged my powerhead thinking it was too much for the 10g tank and instead put in an air stone to help with the oxygen levels in the tank.

Should I have not done this, or are things different for a QT since there is no sump/return lines to aid keeping the oxygen levels high enough?

No expert here, but I have been told to use an airstone while doing tank transfer in place of a powerhead because of too much current. In my 10g QT I run a small powerhead with the airline attached. I added this after some advice that my QT may need it. Also, some medications will drop the oxygen levels so aeration can be needed.

Hope that helps a little. That's just what I have learned here.

I run my WP10 circulation pump just below the surface of the water, it allows it to draw in air and spit out micro bubbles way smaller than any air stone. Because I can set the WP10 to pulsate to make waves, it only sucks air when it cycle to full power.
This replicates real world wave action in my tank. IMHO!

Just something I never saw anyone else do with their wave pumps. :)
But this works really well for me!
