Got a late start diving yesterday as this time of the year the tides are ripping....and you have to dive at slack tide or the current will take you away....

I am usually on the water at sunrise, but yesterday got to the aquaculture site at 12:00pm

Was a flat calm gorgeous day.

Zooming out at 30 knots

Getting a little sunburned...so had to have a selfie LOL

Tides were extreme today

But to have calm ocean like this in the wintertime is unprecedented!

Got the load of rock and live sand

And the rock is amazing!

Stocked to the gills and ready for your tank!

Wow looks incredible... I figured you either went yesterday or today, two great days here in the Tampa area. Looking forward to getting the rock. Thanks for sharing the pics.

South Bound

South Bound

Thanks for the update. Makes me wanna move South for year round boating. Our season is about 1 minute long here in the Northeast.

Hey Rich, what are the little clear shrimp that can hitchhike on the rock? I have about 8-10 from part one and weren't sure what they are.

Haven't been able to get a pic that they show up in. They're about 1/2-3/4" in length and have no claws to speak of. They look like freshwater glass shrimp. I've only ever seen them at night and the reason I noticed was from the eye shine from the flashlight. Other than that they'd be almost transparent.

I also have about 6-7 pistol shrimp in there too though. :D

I know lived in Maine in 1980.....diving for scallops in a wetsuit in December....now that was COLD!! lol

Tides are a little less than Maine :lmao:. I saw the picture from your Garmin and immediately thought of hunting on the Penobscot bay with 13 foot tides. Makes for an interesting day of hunting.

You got that right.....when we were scallop diving, and the tide changed, hang on baby!

I used to dive the mouth of the rivers where they dumped into the ocean where the draggers could not get, dinner plate sized scallops...those were the days!
