Building a shark pond frame structure inner diameter is 90lng 40wide 30tall
Basically its a 3/4 inch plywood base with 2x6 supports sitting on cinderblock. And then studded out the walls and braced it. Just need the pond liner and then brace the top and strapthe middle

I am going to be putting in more drains than I need , or larger plumbing than I would need since I am also going to be draining other tanks into this one. Since my fish room is on other side and I will be moving them all to left of shark pond

that is no where near big enough nor the right shape for a shark tank…even little bamboo sharks won't be happy in there long…

even though you are putting pond liner in there i would still be adding gussets in the inside corners, vertical corners and the horizontal ones…i would glue the snot out of them and use screws to hold it in place...

A. I am calling it a shark pond, but its really just for my huge fish. I have a lot of fish that are outgrowing my 6 foot tanks. I will be gluing and screwing in moldings in all the corners. So ty for that advise . As far as not large enough, if you are coming over to help pay/build a bigger system than my already 1200 gallon system and this 462gallon rectangle please keep it to yourself. What fish do you have and size tanks do u have?

you called it a SHARK pond so unless you want people telling you thats not big enough for a shark then change the name

Touche, either way im happy about it, and excited to fill it. I figured because of it its massive footprint it could be a shark pond. However I have a ton of fish that will appreciate the space. I'm sorry I mistyped and that I was excited

What are the min dimentions you two think is ethical to keep one off the smaller bamboos or catsharks?

thats not even 500 gallons... sharks wont be able to be in there... get some nice eels instead :D

First of all round tank. . And second a little more then twice the length of the animal for depth more like 4 times the animal I would consider more appropriate. .. so more like a 96x 96...

I would have no intentions to pay for such a tank. . Nor would I call it a shark tank if I didn't intend to keep sharks in it..

As for my tank I have 1 5g tank. ...and one 1" damsel in it.

Not being a hater nor do I appreciate the snide remarks when nothing I said was was wrong. ..
to reach their own I guess. ..I admire you building a larger tank for larger fish though rather then allowing them a stressful life banging into walls in a tank to small

4 times the length of a mature damsel size is larger than a 5 gallon tank especially with live rock and corals. 90" is 6.42 times larger than a 14inch fish or shark. Corners are going to be rounded with moldings. I have no active plans for a shark but after seeing peoples shark ponds on here and other sites I thought it was similar in size. I'm sorry I called a shark pond, I am also sorry for posting it on here. A fun fact my mrc mr6r I believe has a large enough base to support 4x the mature size of a damsel

My damsel has been 1" for three years now... but that is beside the point. ..I do hope you continue to post updates. .. as my self would not be able to afford the luxury of a tank this large. .. must live vicariously through others
