Info on Dosing Pump(s)?

I looking to build a auto top off system.I have the wiring and logic figured out.I just have to decide on a dosing pump.I've been looking at the Aqua Medic SP 3000 dosing pump but i read somewhere that it might be too fast for limewater.It pumps at a fixed rate of .8gal/hr.
Does anyone have any information or input on this pump or any other pump out there?

i have this pump it works great for dosing.
If your going to be using it for dosing id say put a value on it to control the flow of dosing
