I recently purchased a 72 gal AGA tank and am starting my fathers day hunting for a suitable stand and canopy. I was looking at this stand from Oceanic in the "Oak Bowfront" collection and in cherry color (model#61025). I cant seem to find a vendor for this stand anywhere. One LFS said he might be able to get it for 900 and another said like 2000 dollars and maybe...??? I was under the impression the stand runs about 500-600. But no one knows... A viable 2nd would be Oceanic's Contrast collection in cherry but i get the same crazy responses at my local LFS.

Does anyone here have any good info on where i can get these stands w/ canopy? Or any different stand maker that does a 72 bow stand in a cherry like color?? I have read that many here have Oceanic stands so any and all help is GREATLY appreciated.

thanks,
Eddy

It appears that the oceanic stand i want is 1) very expensive ($1800 or more and its not even real wood) 2) difficult to find.

I will be looking into a custom made stand but would love to find a stand company that i can purchase the stand even a special order for less than 700 dollars. I need some advice/input guys come on!!!!!

I purchased the same tank about 2 months ago. The reason this stand is so expensive is because this is actual oak. Most stands are made from composite wood with a melamime (sp?) coating. Generally, the composite wood stands go for $300 to about $600. A real wood stand will cost much more. I think I was quoted about $1200 from my LFS for this one, $900 is not bad. The other option is to build your own, but the bowfront makes that a little more difficult.

FWIW, I ended up going with the black stand.
