I have a 130 gal reef tank by Oceanic which has 2 overflows on either side. Tank is primarily a reef however I will have fish also. Approx 175lbs of live rock with various cave formations and ledges. Question ...I am looking to purchase a WaveMaker for the tank and have been told that Tunze is probably one of the best. For the tank description above which model is best for my situation? Where should it be positioned in my tanks and I have heard that the unit is large...what are the dimensions for the unit that you recommend?

thanks for the help

I replied to your email with some more questions I need answers to in order to make a suggestion.

I need to know the dimensions and the type of corals you keep as well as sand type if any.

Roger,

The tank dimensions are 60" long by 24 in wide by 28 in tall.

Corals...Soft and hard corals including toad stools, devil's hand, scolymia, closed brain and open brain coral, wellinsporia (sp), mushrooms, polyps. new to this hobby and don't have the spelling down as of yet

Also have bubble and rose tip anenome

3-4 in sand bed

Tank has been up for about 4 months

Thanks for your help

I would suggest a wavebox and a 6000 Stream with a single controller. The Stream should be housed in the Stream Rock to help protect the anemone. FWIW, my rose still got into my Stream once even with the rock. You need to be careful that he doesn't wander. On the bright side he survived.
