Inherited a Goby...

hey I just inherited a yellowheaded sleeper goby? are these usually hearty in captivity? what food is best and how often should I feed? I've heard their finicky eaters so what is the most enticing food available?

Gobies will usually go for frozen mysis, cyclopeeze, bits of raw shrimp. Might eat formula one pellet, small grade. Keep his water quality up. He'll like 1.024-6 salinity; 8.3-9.3 alk; ph 7.9-8.3; no nitrates or ammonia. If you're being successful with tube nems, you should be pretty good. He is a zealous sandsifter, and will happily clean your sand. If you have good lively sand, he will be in hog heaven.

Make sure theres plenty of space for him to burrow, they dont like sitting out in the open.

If you feel that hes missing, dont be because hes hiding somewhere. Just follow his tracks.

Be aware, if you have any low or flat corals(plate, caps, ect.) that little bugger will keep sand on/in it. The one I had loved to scoop a large mouth full of sand and swim like h*** all over the tank spreading the sand all over the place. Mine was very hardy and gotten rather large(6-7inches)
