Injured Fish - Pic

I have the following fish in my tank...

2x Percula Clowns
1 Blackline Blenny
1 Neon Goby
1 Mystery Wrasse
1 Yellow Assessor

I noticed this morning that the yellow assessor appears to have an injury. Do you think one of my fish attacked it? Or could it have scraped its side on a sharp rock? It likes to swim in the rocks and there are some somewhat sharp edges? Maybe a quick dart and scrape across a rock?

And then anything specific I should do?

Thanks,
Pat

It looks like it jolted into a rock and scraped it. If it were a fish I think the fins would be torn up. Thats a pretty big wound I would put it in the QT imo and let it heal up.

It does look like a scrape to me but one that would have needed some speed to get. Unless it was really unlucky and had a piece of rock fall on it, i'd say its likely the speed it was travelling at was caused by the mystery wrasse. They are well known little blighters and assessors are softies.

Thanks all. I would agree that this looks like a scrape. I have a few spots in my tank with somewhat sharp edges from where I cut the rock. Any idea how long this will take to heal?

Fish are pretty resilient so assuming nothing else creeps into the situation i think it should heal within a week or two. It will likely be noticable for the rest of its life.

Glad it healed up. Make sure you don't have any crabs hiding in the rocks... I lost a few fish with similar injuries, and then found this:
