Inland Empire Reefers, Where are you?

Claremont...

TTF in Upland is a new store and soon will be a good place for corals. His FW and SW fish systems are up and running but the invert system is not finished. I was in there on Monday night and the electricians were running the power to the invert system and the Cichlid system. The inverts will be in 4 large square vats sitting on the floor with small glass tanks shelved above that. I think they will be lighting the vats with 150-400 MH and VHO depening on what's in them and the tanks for the waving softies will have T5.

Is anything happening? it seems like all BS imo. I will support any event as soon as someone steps up. I have been following this thread for some time and it looks like the old soca thread.

Paul, we'll pickup an 18 pack and get hammered at the BBQ\frag swap. Eric's house is in Victorville. We'll pickup Tracy and be the 3 drucken Irishmen.

Softies in a tank with T-5's? ...OMG, I thought these lights were better then MH's:lol:

Steve, I was there Sunday, talked to Ron for about 15 minutes until a buying customer came in:) he seems like a nice guy who knows what's going on. I don't think he liked it when I told him I wasn't into wild caught corals.

I think we all have something in our tanks that was originally "wild caught".

Seriously though, I don't think you will ever see a "Flower Pot" in this store or other corals which have little chance of long term survival and this is a good thing. As I'm sure you understand, you can't have a LFS that sells coral without having "Wild Caught" coral.

I like to find things that are not so common and not easily identifiable. Most of the LR I have bought was because I could see the possibility of something surviving the dry import. I think this is the "Mad Scientist" in me, which BTW, is what Ron jokingly (maybe not) calls me due to the conglomeration of tanks in the garage. Another 20 will be added in a week or so. :D

Also the T-5's I think will be just the inexpensive, plug and play, normal output type. Not the high output, IceCap driven, with hi-tech reflectors.

Steve,
No, nothing against wild caught corals at the LFS, lets face it, every coral in our tanks came from the ocean. It was said in joking, meaning I wouldn't be buying any corals from him:) Well, maybe one or two ;)

I might have David(dznuts) and a friend come along too, so that makes 6 drunken reefers!:D

Roland

Mark,

After that statement to him he'll fell as though he has you converted when you do buy a coral from him.:D

Build it and they will come (buy).

It's an illness not a hobby.

-------------------------------------------
As for all the drunken reefers who will be on the road, please keep me informed as to when you'll be leaving the valley, I want to leave sometime before you.:smokin:

Oh we need a date first don't we.

Roland,
The more the merrier.. I think I'm about as close as it gets to Eric's so how about we all meet at my place...

Steve,
We'll have a driver so don't worry about that. Besides I drive better when I'm drunck, doesn't everybody ;)

Mark... just kidding

What I don't like is leaving the house at 3:00 am to get to an auto swap. All the drunks weaving all over the fwy. We see some nasty accidents at this hour. My pickup truck and trailer at over 18,000 lbs does nothing fast, including stopping.

I could volunteer as a driver.

To quote an old Adam Ant song "Prince Charming"
"Don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do?"
_ell if I know!
