Hi,

I am having delivered:
http://www.petsolutions.com/Default...yId=Marineland-Reef-LED-Aquarium-Strip-Lights

I think it's fine, but I don't have experience with it. So far I've had one comment that he has had several and none lasted more than a year over salt water tanks. He makes it sound like the salt is ruining them. But if there is little to no salt spray, I don't see that happening.

Anyhow, any thoughts on this? I like it because it's fairly bright for the price at 30 watt and some blue bulbs also.

I was thinking of returning it and getting the Fuge Ray 2. Though it's only 20 watt. Is that a better product?

Thanks

What are you going to be keeping? It would be fine for fish only viewing light for sure. It may be OK for low light corals, like mushrooms. I have not heard much good about it.

which is overpriced? they are about same $ per watt. the mainland is only $120.. and the fugeray is $90
*This is for a seahorse tank, so bright lights are not required, but just to have them bright enough :)

I don't see on that link where it says how many blues/white bulbs etc are used, the wattage you're paying for, etc. And it's $190 for my recommended "medium" light intensity for 24". hmmm. Maybe if it was like 50watts, which I don't even need.

I just received it. It looks like a bad design. the less are literally 1" above the very top of the tank. the bracket raises it only be that much! Now I can see why salt water could ruin this. I'm going to likely have to return it and get the huge ray, as that has higher brackets... even an extra 1 1/2" would be way better than this bs. Who designs this? lol
*though Petsolutions.com has a 60 day return policy. So I have a decent window of time to try it out. And there is a 1 year warranty on it.
