Did you see the green button polyps price per polyp! I scape these things off my glass and give them to a buddy to feed his angels.

LOL. I chop them off with scissors and throw them out to stop the mad growth of those green palys. I hope people aren't buying these for that price.

Is that the original colors? I'm amazed but that evil little guy on my shoulder keeps yelling in my ear that the colors are photoshoped. :-) Please tell me it isn't true. :-)
Great photos by the way, what kind of macro lens are you using?

Nice corals but, glad someone else feels the same as me. Put enough blue/actinic and you could make a turd have colors.:)

I believe this post says it all...

I've been there recently and their brain corals are really that insane; some of the nicest I've ever seen, same thing with hat yuma. The "OMG" chalice on the other hand was nothing exceptional and I really cannot believe they are asking that much for it, especially being that it's a recent import and hasn't even been in their store for longer then a month. Same with the doomsday chalice. cool pics!

There is no actinic supplement used in my pictures. They are both 20K 250W MH. I used the brand new one off the shelf as main light and found the oldest 20K in their store (14K) to fill in some shadow. Colors were personally enhanced in PP for visual appearance. You are interested in how they looks like under 250W 20K bulb, you can visit their site for their straight-out-of-camera pictures with real colors.

I am using the 60mm macro lens by Nikon.

Thanks. Are you sure you look at the right colony? It used to be in the 90g demo tank and they now moved it to the clam tank right next to it. There were 2 other ones in the SPS that looks similar. It is the kind of coral that looks way better in person. When I was there, everyone was eyeballing at it and say OMG and that is why it is call OMG. It makes my WM chalice collection look boring.

I was on there looking at there big clams that they say are maximas. You can't see the shell real well, but the mantle alone does not say maxima to me. I am thinking along the lines of squamosa. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I noticed all the shots were under intense Actinic lighting. Still, I've seen a couple of Trachy's as crazy in color as those two, with MINIMAL blue lights, I might add..
Also, Scolys & Favia..
The reason I love LPS corals above all others..

Yes I'm sure; I was personally showed the colony of OMG and doomsday by Dr. Lee. It was in the first display/for sale tank right as you walk in, the one with all the dendro frags. It was nice but nothing too crazy IMO, especially for the price. I like the pink eyed "bubble gum" chalice they had in the same tank much more, along with the bright orange/green base chalice in the same tank.

Isn't this a little misleading?? If a coral has "OMG" "WOW" and "jaw dropped" qualities, wouldn't it stand on it's own merit with out having you "enhance" it for "visual appearance" and not stated so until asked?

I do believe in photography, photo post editing is required most of time for such things as "enhancing visual effects" or to depict as accurately the subject the photographer saw at that time. I think in the future if you're going for the "visual effect", a statement like "does not depict actual subject" or "check out these effects i did with photoshop" would have been nice. Just my $0.02 :D

BTW... very nice lens choice!!! :)

Let me clarify this. I did not change any colors to a different ones nor add more colors to the final picture so there is no misleading here. It will be misleading if it did not have green, and I added green in PP. These corals come with those colors as you see in the final images.

In photography, we want to make the object look best in the final image. I love both coral and photography. I took time and effort to make these images to my standard and I hope you guys enjoys them.

Sorry I must have misunderstood you when you said this:

"Colors were personally enhanced in PP for visual appearance."

and this:

"You are interested in how they looks like under 250W 20K bulb, you can visit their site for their straight-out-of-camera pictures with real colors."

leading me to think that if i wanted to see what it really looks like I should go to their site.

Thank you for the clarification.
