insect bomb affect on tank

My girlfriend's sister wants to bomb their house because her dog is bringing ticks into the hous. My tank is currently at their house. I was wondering if the fumes from the bomb would kill everything in my tank. If they will I will be moving my tank in a hurry to my place. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I lost my 90g a few years back cause we had our air ducts cleaned and some crap sprayed in there. of course, when we turned on the air, all that crap must have come out. It wsa a pretty sad site. Tank went downhill pretty fast.

Do some searches here before you try it but I've heard of people keeping their tank while tenting their house by sealing the top with plastic and pumping air in from a hose going out the window with an airstone. Then air the house our really good before you take off the plastic. If you also ran plenty of carbon that *should* work.

Alizarian is correct.

you want to make an airtight, or close to it, enclosure for the tank, and then pump clan air in. The high pressure in the tank enclosure will keep the poison out.

i bombed for fleas a few years ago.i just covered my tank and sump up with plastic garbage bags.then taped them air tight.i left my sump pump and all powerheads running and shut off the lights.everything lived,i cant say it will work everytime but thats what i did and nothing died.

I moved the tank to my place it was only a 29 gallon so I was able to get it all done by myself. Its also a good thing I moved it b/c ive been spending more time at home lately.

If there's tick's in the house, a simple bombing ain't gonna do it. We had a tick infestation a year ago and it was a nightmare! I've bombed my house before with my tank just covered with a blanket and everything was fine.

I remember my saltwater tank (fish only) back in college 25 years ago. Living in an apartment in Gainesville, the pest control guy came in and sprayed for bugs. Apartment was closed up without AC on. When I came home a few hours later, everything was DEAD. Tramatic experience.

We have the enzymes needed to deal with insecticides, bugs and fish don't.

Thanks for all the info everyone I moved my tank from the house that was going to be bombed to my house. I will not be having to worry about bug bombs killin my fish ne more.

thanks
