So with all the stuff going on and many now just sitting at home. I thought we should start a thread on what you are actually doing with the tank, the home and just getting caught up on a few projects.
I feel I need to spend some money at home depot to start up some of those spring projects. get the garden in order and maybe some organization as well.

So with this being said what the heck is everyone doing and please inspire me with your efforts.

I'm catching the last plane out of Moldova where I'm going to medical school. School it cancelled until further notice and embassy said to come home. Get to see my tank for the first time in 2 months.

very nice. travel safely and give that tank a hug.

starting up a 2g pico because...well.... I am dumb. bought an open frame inverter/generator for emergencies and I need to make a quiet box for it. need to sort thru about 100 tons of stuff in garage so can actually use it again to work on other forgotten projects..

I'm still working but been setting up a qt system
24a6acbc5e71a0f80a22c3beae6b0143.jpg

Had to re-seal the tank and waiting for the glass brasses to be cut by glass shop.

I cleaned the skimmer compartment and weir of my sump, removed a bunch of ceramic media ( anyone need some ceramic media for free) from these compartments and did my first real water change(50g) since setting up the tank 3 or 4 years ago. Tried to remove a large bag of carbon which fell apart and dumped all the carbon into the weir, so cleaner that out too. Cleaned my skimmer throughly and modified it slightly to make it work better. Hung a Black box LED I have had for years over my QT/frag tank. I have also been working on cleaning my garage for several days already. But keep finding incomplete projects or things I bought for projects and getting distracted with doing them. At this rate my garage should be clean in two months, maybe longer. In the mean time my side yard is a mess because of the stuff I have taken out of the garage.
I plan to get my mangrove tank plumbed up to my display and move the 4 mangroves that are all deformed from hitting the bottom of the tank out of my sump.

Nice Steve, great job.

I plan on getting my frag tank back on track this weekend and go thru my RODI unit. Who knows sports on TV I am going stir crazy. I did vacuum both the cars yesterday as well.

We all have nothing but time on our hands right now so we all need to make the best of it.

I have enough projects to keep me busy for months. Just need the motivation to get them done. Cleaned the side yard today so now the garage is chaos again.

Long time no thread reading.........

I'm getting the itch for a new tank.....looking at a 25 lagoon for my office.....any suggestions on lighting? I like the look of the Kessils but have not done much research yet. I've been out of the hobby so long I'm wondering where everyone's MH's went!

Nice to see some familiar names!

I have the same lagoon and am running 2 Kessil 360W on it. I had one going at first but there was wayyy to much shadowing. I love the lights because I used to run a 400W Coralvue pendant with Radiums back in the day and this was as close to it as possible.

Great thread Richard. This is what I have been doing maybe it'll inspire you:

- Put on a new mailbox with post that's closer to the house
- Seeded area of the backyard where we lost all of our grass
- Created new paths with flat rocks lying around in the backyard
- Bought some new lights for the backyard that has motion sensor
- Doing two water changes a week instead of one, but smaller ones
- Finally set up an automatic feeder in case someday I go on a trip (cancelled the one I was supposed to go to in May)

Very nice.

suggestion for those that buy the cheap solar lights in four packs. if you remove the stake and mount them horizontal on the fence and things it adds a lot of light and ambiance in the year

I did two above ground planter boxes last weekend and have a few seeds of things started. Still cleaning up the yard but it is looking better every week.
Still have not worked on the frag tank. the good news is my display tank is doing great and the color and growth is motivating for me.
I have been messing with a plumbing leak. bad valve in the roman tub and getting parts and such has been a fight. nothing better then turning the water off a few times a day to save water.
Going to wash the cars this weekend stay on top of things.

Been smartening the house. Installed Alexa. Added smart bulbs. smart plugs. Nest thermostat, and ring cameras. Then repainted the rooms and dusted off the old hobby. Star Wars collection. installed LED in the shelf and have Alexa control everything

I killed most my fish, that was exciting. I don't recommend it.

ATM, I'm just leaving the tank alone. It no longer hurts to look at it but I'm giving it time to recover from my handy-work before I give killing everything another shot.

I'll do a WC and regular maintenance this weekend and perhaps clip out the parts of a few corals I killed.

ripping everything out of the garage and filling trashcans and organizing :)

and.. running low on ammo making sure I have enough .223 for when the zombies come.

I got new factory crimp dies for .223 and for .308 some time back and am just now using them.

For bulk necked ammo, they are the bee's knees. I can't believe i used to make bulk with a roll crimp. No more kinked or bulged cases at all, nice tight crimp every time. best $30 I ever spent on reloading :)

Loving that Star Wars collection I have a little corner for collectibles everything from figures to posters and souvenirs from traveling!

Hello Tony,

Very impressed with that collection of yours. One of my neighbors has a crazy collection of a bunch of older star wars stuff still in boxes.

Always interesting to see what people collect these days.
